MEET THE MAYOR
Marianne Riggins is the mayor of Malibu and a lifelong resident dedicated to community service.
Marianne Riggins, elected to the Malibu City Council in 2022 and serving a one-year term as Mayor starting April 2025, is a lifelong Malibu resident who attended local public schools and has deep roots in the community. She worked for 17 years in Malibu’s Planning and Environmental Sustainability Departments and has volunteered with organizations including Girl Scouts, Malibu High School Athletic Booster Club, and SMMUSD oversight committees. As mayor, she’s focused on wildfire recovery and resilience, accelerating home rebuilding, and investing in amenities like the Permanent Skate Park while advocating for an independent Malibu Unified School District.
