Maryam Zar – Civic Leader | Policy Advocate | Community Strategist

Maryam Zar is a Los Angeles–based civic leader focused on recovery, resilience, and smart community planning. She founded and leads the Palisades Recovery Coalition, guiding Pacific Palisades through rebuilding after the 2025 wildfire in partnership with local, state, and federal teams.

A former journalist and longtime public servant, Maryam brings people together to tackle tough issues—from insurance reform and public safety to housing in fire zones. She’s helped advance a Palisades Rebuilding Authority and keeps community voices at the center of policy conversations.

Known for strategic foresight and grassroots trust, Maryam champions transparent governance and sustainable planning—so the Palisades recovers stronger, safer, and more resilient for the long term.
